Proudly presenting 2010 Petronas ad on National Day

On this day, I can't help but think of how unique Malaysia is as a country and I am reminded of the beautiful commercials that the late Yasmin Ahmad created for Petronas in conjunction with merdeka. But with the passing of her last year, I guess this is dedicated to her as this ad has resemblances of hers of previous years.

Ooh La La

Skyped with my family just now. It is the best feeling ever, everytime I talked to them..as a bunch. Literally 7 faces (4 sisters, one brother, mom and dad) was on the screen rebut-rebut nak cakap. 'Eh muka Along bulatt la..ehh why so sembap..look at your cheeks' and Amal's favourite line for me and Aiman, 'Where's your neck?'...Thankkkssssss! Pffttt

Actually, I don't mind all that teasing. I don't get that here. It's been a year abroad, sometimes I need that once in a while to lift up my mood. It can be pretty lonely here in UK you see. Friends doing their own thing, I'm doing my stuff and sadly, we have no TV! (Yeah, and who's fault is that?)


Anyway, after completing my dissertation, I have four months to go before my graduation ceremony and before I balik Malaysia for good. I wanted to go home as soon as possible in October, but Dad said "lepak la dulu la sana sampai convo". Furthermore, to come back and forth nanti in December, it's gonna cost his pocket. Might as well duduk sini, and I could get a temporary job so I could support my stay here and plans to travel nanti.


Talking about traveling, Sheena and I purchased return tickets to...PARIS. Nous allons à Paris pour 4 jours et 3 nuits! 4 days and 3 nights in Paris just us. I don't want to get so excited yet as I don't want to anticipate anything nanti jadi tak best.
Okay la, tipu la tu. Excited sikit. I can't hardly waiiittt!

The thing is about me, I don't like blogs that has no pictures. I'm a sucker for visual images, hence my major in Multimodal Analysis. (Ok, poyo). So, minta maaf banyak-banyak ye to those who are suckers for more words. Unfortunately, it ain't me. I think I expressed better with pictures!

Good Ol' Weddy

Today I had a good day. Wrote quite a lot for my disso, treated myself for the 'eat-all-you-want' £10 sushi at Shogun, had coffee and dessert at Cafe Rouge near the canal and indulged in a dissertation-free conversation with Sheena and Azizul. I have 9 more days to the submission date and I seriously can't wait any more longer than that! Rimas dah!

So, it was a good ol' Wednesday for me.


On the other hand, I find her really pretty. She's all grown up. My style icon 2.Will write more about her soon.

Raya Low Point

I was listening to some lagu raya with Sheena and Dalia (konon nak semangat Raya laa) , and later I found myself crying like a baby. Tu la, sape suruh cari pasal. Anyway, Eid Mubarak is just two weeks away, and this is the second time I'll be celebrating Eid away from my family. Big deal? Yeah, it is for me though. I've never been away before and the feeling is depressing when thinking about it. ;(

Makan Meriah : Friday Iftar

When it comes to preparing food for Iftar, I'll be so semangat and the one who plans on the menu that should be cooked on that day (well, I always consulted Sheena first as she is fussy with food..;-p peace!. So, since it's Friday and it is the beginning of a great weekend, I decided to make something meriah for our Iftar today.

Here is the menu:

Appetizer: Clam and corn chowder (more for Dalia, it's her staple food)

Main course: Cheese and garlic naan (sendiri buat ok, sini takde mamak)



and kuah dhal



Mackarel curry



For dessert: Pisang Bakar Keju (this is such a famous dessert dish in Indonesia, and since the ingredients are easy to find here, might as well we dig it! )

Drinks: Sirap limau, strawberry and lemon cooler and Chai Tea (It's teh tarik but with cinnamon stick, cardamon pots ,clove and star anise. Dalia made the best Chai Tea ever!)

I don't care if I gained 10 kg from eating all of these tonight. I've been eating books, journals, magazines for research and many other things relating to my disso. I think I deserve this. Furthermore, cooking is therapeutic and it can release all of my stress toxin away.

I broke my favourite-up-and-tilt camera (the small Nikon) and I need a new one. Girls and camera can’t be seperated. It is not a necessity for us, it is necessary!

Let's Go Dutch

During Spring break, the Hubery girls and I decided that, for our last trip (more like their last trip), we decided to indulged ourselves in a crazy vacation to Amsterdam. Yeah, you heard that..Amster-damn.

The most famous ‘coffee shop’ (as they claimed) in Amsterdam. Many scenes in the movie Ocean’s Thirteen (Brad Pitt and George Clooney..ring a bell?) was shot here.

Summer Weddings 2010

Rowena and Nizam - They met when both of them were working in Lumut. There's a funny but inspiring story behind this couple!

Zaznuriah and Hashley - They were school mate (Primary School: SSP), tuition mate (Cikgu Razman), course mate (UiTM - Law), best friends, lover, fiances, and now ROOM MATE! Hashley started to have feelings towards Zaza when he was 14?

Farissa and Rushdan - They met through a friend.

Felishia and Afnan - They met while they were doing their Bachelor Degree in UK.

Dr. Alina and Azhar - They met 8 years ago through friends. Their families are friends as well. Most of their relationship was long distance as Alina was in Birmingham for 5 years for her undergraduate studies.

Hudaa and Izwan - They met when they were in college
