Sama-sama

This entry is long overdue, I've been meaning to blog it months ago but have been keeping it off because I was waiting for the photos from the girls.

I'm so blessed to have known these people, for I have known them for quite some time (nearly to 10 years perhaps?), and even some I have lived with for 2 years or so.

Despite the differences that we've had, the distances from each other and hectic life that we are leading, it's not that often that we see each other as how we should. Some tak jumpa langsung.. i think more than a year, only see them on FB.

Anyway, the best part of throwing parties is that we can gather everyone together and have a good time. In conjunction of me ending my singlehood days, my TESL girlfriends decided to throw one hell of bachelorette party and being surrounded by teachers and lecturers (most of em) and some were once teachers/lecturers, it is one hell of a party siap dengan adanya Master of ceremony, game master, performances and all sorts of contests! Siap ada best dress competition. The theme was diamonds and sequins. Hilarious!

I was excited for the party so I decided to get ready early. Of course you'll be excited when you are being celebrated! Hitched a ride with Azura and Azima, and off we went to One Utama. Before the event started, they sent me away for a massage at Thai Odyssey because they wanted to decorate the place in order to boost up the party ambience. Had my 1 hour massage and off I went to Neway, but when I called them, "Eh belum lagi belum lagi", haish kelakarlah budak-budak ni.

And rupanya guess what they were doing? They were rehearsing a song for me because when I entered the room, Azura was 'Ok, everyone 1 2 3" and the music starts.

So sweet I want to cry. They performed one of my favourite song by the late Seha, "Mulanya Disini". Siap ada menari tu

" Sama-sama menjejak mimpi, sama-sama mencari dan menanti, segalanya direstui cinta sejati, sama-sama gunung didaki, sama-sama turun ke lembah sepi, suka duka bersama dirasai"

:)

The rest came after and we started playing games. I felt like peeing the whole time as the girls were hilarious! Screamed, shrieked, laughed, screamed, shrieked, laughed. We had Falliq as the master of ceremony and it's quite fun to see him do what he does best.

We sang, we played games, we sang again the whole night long. I nearly choked up when I sang a favourite song of mine by Nora, "Hanya Satu", which I did not at all think about Mr. Z, but at that moment I felt that it could be the 'hanya satu' moment that I spend with these girls. With our busy schedule, long distances and yada yada, it's just hard to find time to actually gather like this again.

Gah. That's just our friendship dynamic. Sigh.

Anyhow, all in all, the 5 hours I spent with them were tremendously worth it and fun, and it actually made my whole day. In fact, I was smiling and talking about it the whole week.

Girls (Sheena, Zura, Ima, Ikhlas, Qilah, Deera, Wena as well as Faliq), if any of you reading this, thank u so so much for taking time to do this for me. Appreciate every little effort, energy and creativity that you guys put into this. More of this soon ya? Wedding siapa pulak yaaa?

Ggggrr 'Diva'licious Night

Another fun night with great girlfriends over scrumptious Italian meal, enjoying a live band serenading us with ballads and jazz numbers over coffee and followed by pillow talk until dawn. Relaxxxxx.
Topics we talked about will remained within that four walls of the hotel room. Ahaha

But, we had a discussion (sort of!) of a book that we are currently obsessed about; clue: Audi and Boston. Perfect timing kan. The best way to share our sentiments about what we read and know over pillows and duvets with your close girlfriends. Meroyan sekor-sekor.

Thanks girls!

Dinner at the finest Italian restaurant in KL. Pavola. Yummy food, too delicious. Fully recommended to everyone especially those who favor authentic Italian cuisine. Thanks to Zehan for this! (Remember your 'Yalee yalee night!')

One for the memories!

Hey girls (Deena, Zehan and Bella), thank you so much for a great night out (or in!) and looking forward to many more of these; hangouts, dinners, sleepovers and great friendship in years to come. Can't believe it is close to 10 years we've known each other and insya Allah, another 70 years?

Something New

I've always wanted to try something new. To try things that I never thought that I could do. With Allah's willing and my determination, I could make this work and be successful as these two ladies in the picture below. Amin.

These two pretty ladies are my new-old friends. It's great to meet new people, even though these girls are not considered as new, but in a way it is new. New level of friendship. Insya Allah.

Khaisah Hashley

One of my girls gave birth, the first one actually for all of us. So, we were a bit jakun and OVERexcited. Trust me, the noises and havocs in the hospital and Zaza's house can actually beat the noises that I had in my class of 30 students.

F: It's my turnnn to hold Khaisah!
M: No dude, you dah pegang dia tadi. It's my turn I've been waiting..
F: (still holding Khaisah)... *Khaisah wails* Oh my Godddd..why is she cryingg? Ok breathe breathee..relaxx relaxx
R: Dude, she doesn't like youuuu
T: Give me Khaisah laaa..maybe she'll like me..
Z: Meh sini Khaisahh.. (Khaisah senyap)
F: Why Khaisah nangiss Z?
Z: Ntahh you...

... and along those lines la..ahahaha

Regardless of the noises, shrieks, screams.. That was one the best moments I've had with my girls. My girls, those that I grew up with.. one of the oldest bunch I know and trust in the world. Regardless of anything.

Let Go, Push Away

Towards the end of 2010, I faced a whirlwind trauma friendship drama with some people whom I used to be really good friends with, but now, we are not anymore. How do I deal with it? How do I feel about it then and now?

I was hurt. Obviously I was. They were my friends. Good friends pulak tu. But I seriously am not sure what went wrong, the whole 'we're-buddies-I-love-you' kinda thing went down the drain. All these happened because of the lack of ability in controlling emotions and to think rationally. I believe so. We are adults right, why can't talk like adults? If one is scared of confronting, there are always emails right? Why must we use FB in portraying your dissatisfaction and hatred? Your emotional outburst in public, is it really worth it?

So, to cut the story short, I learnt a lot from this. At first, I was so angry and I will blame everybody. I still do though, but I'm letting it go now. Not being the best friend that I used to be to them, but accepting the fact that we're no longer 'friends' that we used to be and things won't be the same anymore. Why this happened? Waallahualam, I don't have the answer for it. Blaming others won't do justice, blaming diri sendiri pulak unfair? Nay? Mungkin ini semua ada hikmah nye tersendiri. Remember that God has determined everything that was/were/going to happened in our lives.

A wise friend of mine used to remind me this whenever dugaan-dugaan kecil ini berlaku:
1) We can't force people to be friends with us. We can't make people love us all the time. That makes us human.
2) What can we gain by not being their friends? Are they the ones who gave you shelter, food and money? Or even jobs? So, what do you have to lose? Nothing right?
3) Sabar. Ini benda kecil aja.

It's true right?

So, let go. Stop analyzing. Stop complaining. Life is short for this. There's more to life than bickering with people who is not worth your time, so why sweat over it?

Self reminder that is.

Quote of The Day

"Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they are meant to be there; they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or help you figure out who you are."

December Love

Hello December.. One more month to go to 2011 and for me to be where all my heart is! HOME. Come quick, I can't wait anymore.

******

One of my best girlfriend, Melissa Esme turns 25 today. Wishing you another wonderful year of happiness and joy babe. I love you lots and lots. Let's celebrate soon, Insya Allah.

With Mel ;)

Your birthday’s a time for careful reflection
About your life, and its future direction.
You see where you’ve been when you look at the past;
Most of it’s great; you had quite a blast!
You wonder what’s coming, what life has in store;
Will it be just the same? Will there be a new door?
Remember this, as you blow out the last candle:
Life holds no challenge that you cannot handle.

Three

Talks that last into the late night on love, lies and religion. We might forget all that was said in a few days but the moment was special and I think it’s nice to note it down.
July 13, 2010 Evening till July 14, 2010 Early Morning
Look at that! We were young, ‘stupid’ (check out me in pink!), and SLIM!

Missing Much - The Girls

It will be nice if one of us have our own house and hosts dinner parties like this..

All of 15 of us..or more

Don't fret. We can still have our luncheons and dinner parties the usual ways.

Insya Allah, dengan izin Tuhan, we will have our own dinner parties and luncheons at our own place one day. Work hard!

Missing the girls (and their spouses) much.
