Of Students and Banana Leaf Rice

It was the last day of exam, and we, the lecturers, decided to bring our international students for some culinary feast at... a banana leaf restaurant! It's not just about the food, but eating out of banana leaf is also part of a culture. Totally fun and hilarious too.

The best part of my job is the students. And the activities that we do.

Diamonds are Forever!

We were here at the MIECC to watch two of our dearest leaders of our group DDM Aliah Nasreen and DSM Nadia Bakly. They're diamonds, the highlights of the night after a year of embarking in this fun business. 5 figures income anytime for these ladies.

Pandora With Love

I have finally received my Pandora bracelet and a charm from my dear friend-mentor, Nadia Suhaimi. For being an SSM. Thank you so so much. I wouldn't be able to achieve this if it weren't for your support babe. Many thanks again. I love it!

My journey in PB has been exceptionally wonderful. Better than I expected it to be. I made new friends as well as re-connect with  the old ones. I learned that money don't grow on trees, but money can be found if you search at the right place with the right intention. You never know where it can take you, where it can lead you to. With blessings and determination, everything is possible. 

When I decided to do this business, I took some time to think about it and I nearly gave up. It took me a while to decide and to be open about it. But seeing how Aliah Nasreen, Nadia Bakly and Nadia Suhaimi's succeeded by doing this, I decided "why not"? If everyone can do this, so I thought, I can do this as well. 

Ran home (cewah dramatic -nyaaa), asked permission from Mom and Dad as well as Mr. Z, and tadaaa.. and with their blessings, dated 28 February 2012, I am a fully registered PB agent distributor. 

Here I am now. Not an ounce of regrets. Not a step back. In fact, I am all fired up to do more and better. To achieve greater results for all the good intentions. I'm not doing this to show off or brag; and everything relates to it. There's no reason for me to brag anyway. 

I've my wedding to work on this September. That needs money for now.

I've an elderly parents (in their late 50's and still working) and I would love to contribute to their house and their well-being such as supplements, medicines and those things don't come cheap. I would also want to ease any of their burdens and help as much as I can. These need money.

I have four younger sisters; the second one is getting married soon after me, the third one is doing her final dissertation and the last two younger girls just entered university life. Oh please tell me maintaining them are free. Haha.

I have a brother who's just 10 years old. Free jugak ke?

I've a marriage to build in four months time. Go figure.

I've wishes to bear my own children. Malaysia ada child welfare benefits macam UK tak? 

I've wishes to buy a house, to live comfortably and to be able to get whatever I want, to be able to afford excellent education for my younger siblings and children in the future. Ohmagee, all of these needs money!

And the list just won't stop unfortunately.

Am I being wishful thinking? Berangan much? Do I think too much? Is it just me or I'm just being paranoid? 


Reality hits, I guess.

I'm the eldest of six, my parents' second person in command and all of these are my responsibility. And soon, I will be a wife and mother, and there will be more responsibilities to hold. And last but not least, I am a typical girl who desires many things in life and I wouldn't want my (soon-to-be) husband to be burdened with my never-ending 'idiosyncrasy' wishes (ehem) which I can also get myself. 

I'm not complaining here. I am preparing. Instead, I'll just do whatever it takes  to achieve my long list and I won't stop until I get what I want.

So, I guess I'm staying here. In this business. Looking forward to spread the good things (PB Love) and good things are meant to be shared right?

Four months? Or Three?

Four months. That's it. Make it three because the ceremony will be right after Raya and there's only so much to do during Ramadhan. Psyched but nervous at the same time. I hope I'll be more productive and get things done (and by that time it should be 80%) in May and June. Here's some updates for the things that have been done.. or not.

• Hantaran: Purchased 80% of barang for him. Just chocolate, perfume and gadget which haven't arrived in Malaysia yet; all of these are yet to be bought by June. Sirih junjung will be done by decorator. As for Mr. Z, he has purchased ALL of the barang except for my handbag, which is because I can't make up my mind. LOL
• Gubahan hantaran: Booked. 
• Make up & Hair: I've booked one for my two functions but need another one. Suggestions please. Tiar Zainal? Khir Khalid? Rozlan Nasir? 
• Attire: The designs are still in progress. I kept on changing my frickin mind! Kejap nak the groom pakai suit, so my baju must have the 'western' element la sikit (not sexy! Ahaha). But kejap nak songket plus modern, sebab bila lagi the groom will be hang tuah kan? So, I've decided on the traditional theme instead of western. And the colour has been finalized. 
• Maid of honors: Sister and two best friends. Bought their materials.

• Tray bearers: Bought materials for both tudung and dress. Tudungs have been sent to tailor to jahit tepi. 

• Photographer: Booked. Just need to meet for further discussion.
• Videographer: Further discussion. Can't wait to discuss on montage!
• Hand bouquets: Tak fikir lagi. 
• Shoes: Shoes will be custom made by designers. Just one problem with my Badgley Mischka. Need to find replacement!
• Cake: Hantaran cake belom finalized. Any good delicious cake from any blogs or shop to suggest?
• Sound system : Belom fikir.
• Entertainment: Family insisted on having a karaoke moment  but since I'll be having malam berinai besar in my house,  I might be having it at that time. Entertainment for reception is still pending. But have few ideas in mind.
• Henna: Loved Mel's. Nak yang itu.
• Canopy: Check. Not yet apparently.
• Catering: Check. 
• Emcee: Covered.
• Invitation cards: Designs are ready for both mine and Mr. Z. Will proceed to the next step soon. 
• Guest list: Not yet. 

• Corsages: Have yet to ask Bungaa if they can do mine for all functions ;)
• Legal docs: Not yet!
• Spa: I've been going to Martha Tilaar twice while I was in Jakarta. But will proceed to a spa that my girlfriends recommended while I'm here.
• Favours: This one is Mom's area. But we have finally decided for our majlis Qhatam, nikah and reception. Just need to get the stuff.
• Decorations: Booked decorator but .. I really need to work on my room.

Constantinople Dream - Part 2

It was the last day of 2010, woke up and had that 'wet burger' for breakfast, (wow, 'healthy' giler la kan) and head to town to meet the boys. It was already towards the end of our trip but haven't finished covering the 'wajib' historical places in Istanbul. 

First stop for that day was Hagia Sophia, the major cathedral when the city was still 'Constatinople' before it turned into a mosque under the Ottoman Empire. I learnt about this when I was 17, that a church was turned into a mosque after the conquest of Constantinople. The carpets of the mosque were removed and the white plaster covering the mosaics of the cathedral were also taken out. This is to show to tourists the events that had happened in Hagia Sophia/Aya Sofya especially about the conversion. And yeah, I did noticed the differences between the mosque and the church, but since the conversion of the mosque was before the museum, the structure looked more a mosque than a church. That's just my point of view. I was inside Aya Sofya for more than an hour checking out old paintings and snapping away pictures.

It was Friday and noon, so that means Friday prayers. We went to the Blue Mosque. The boys and Dalia went for Friday Prayers, as for myself (Aunty Flow) waited for them outside the Blue Mosque and just listening to the serene sounds of the Surah that were recited in the prayer. Such peaceful serene feelings.

Were given a bowl of free sweet porridge at the Blue Mosque. Delicious. Of course, at that time we were hungry.

And had bigger lunch nearby; at the district of Sultan Ahmet.

And the last location we visited was the palace of Topkapi which was the primary resident of the Ottoman Sultans approximately for 400 years. It is now converted into a major tourist attractions in the world(under UNESCO) and it contains important legacies; amongst are the Prophet Muhammad's sword and cloak. 

We end our Istanbul vacay with watching New Year fireworks at the Ortakoy and eating... Midye Dolmasi, the famous Turkish delicacy!

Diamond Night Coming Up!

It's Diamond night next Saturday on the 21st and I'm so excited to see the awards receivers especially both my sifus, Aliah Nasreen and Nadia Bakly on stage to receive their awards. Both have been doing this for nearly a year as part timers, but both have achieved so so much. Don't talk about income la kan, they are already in that range of 5 figures. How in the world man? So, diamond night. Looking forward to attend this dinner as  it's my first time! The theme is red and black, but awards receivers will be in gold and black. They are the stars for the night so gold is the way! Either way, we girls will be all groomed, dolled up and dandy.. and of course there will be photo sessions. Will post photos soon when it's done.

Favourite Weekends

Last two weekends were hectic but undoubtedly fun. Dedicated for dear girlfriends; Farissa, Ema and Mel.

1) Farissa's Circus babyshower - who is due in May and we (i am more of the participant) threw her a cute circus style baby shower at Penang Village. The games were damn hilarious as well. We were being a good sport as we had to drink 200 ml FULL CREAM milk in a baby bottle and winner is those who managed to finish it first. Obviously I was not the winner. Full cream in one go? Searched for something masam after that. Ema gave offered me her tom yam soup. Boleh la tu. 

2) Ema's Let's Get Wild Safari - Ema is next in line and among us she is number 7 to embark into marriage-hood. Less than 20 days! Anyway, two weekends away, we threw her a karaoke bachelorette party. It was really fun and one of the best I've been to. We sang and played games and we did a duet competition among us girls. 16 of us. The rest of the games? It's for us to know and you to find out. Haha.

3) Mel's reception - She had her solemnization a month ago, and last week was her reception. She was beautiful, and everything about the wedding was beautiful. I was her MOH and was really honoured to be hers for that night. Za and Knurl delivered a beautiful speech too. The food, the live band and Mark who sang that night, and their montage! Everything la! Good job Zul from Luey Motion Lab who did a cute montage about them! Dress by none other than Qudyn and decoration by Theme of Que Rafael. Woottt.
