5 Days

5 days to the wedding, and I felt anxious, nervous and nak muntah. And this time, it's not because of the wedding itself, I was more concerned on the akad nikah and marriage afterwards. All these while what worries me were the flow of the program, the guests list, the RSVPs and the nicks knacks paddy wacks. But chuck them aside, those are not my concern and it should not be. What hit me the most was: CAN I BE A WIFE?

And I asked myself again, WHAT IS A ROLE OF A WIFE? What do I have to do?

............

I've never been a wife, and it hit me that being a wife is not the same as a girlfriend. And I thought it was, excluding the physical H-A-L-A-L relationship that we can have. Yes, you be there for him, love him, teman makan, listen to his rants and all, etc etc. But it doesn't stop there.

Can I obey a person I've never lived with? I am known for keras kepala, will question all actions, can I actually obey the man I'm about to marry? The fact that your Jannah lies beneath your husband's feet, it actually gives me shivers when thinking about it. That proverb should not be taken lightly. *Imagining Mr. Z's stare daggers at me*.

Abu Hurayrah reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “When a woman prays her five (prayers), fasts her month (Ramadan), preserves her chastity, and obeys her husband, she will be told (on the Day of Judgement), “Enter Jannah from any of its (eight) gates.”

It has been narrated on the authority of Umm Salama (ra) that Rasul'Allah (saw) said: "If a woman dies in a state when her husband is pleased with her, she will enter Paradise ". (Tirmidhi)

Subhan'Allah. So easy, yet so difficult.

I guess that's why the reward is so great.

Insya Allah, 5 more days to become a wife.

Perantauan 2010

My Ramadan and Raya in 2010 was a unique and memorable one. It was not at home-sweet-home KL, in fact it was actually a HOME to me back then. Not so much of bazaar Ramadan and kuih-kuih tradisi, but it was fun and interesting indeed with great companies around us.

These are my reflections of Raya and Ramadan in 2010.

We were actually main-main hantar our picture to Berita Harian, kononnya nak salam di perantauan. Over sungguh.

Packed my bag, and off we (Sheena and I) to London during Ramadan. We arrived in London at noon, and managed to visit the British Museum before we had our Iftar.

Our new housemate of Hubert Road arrived just a day before Raya and because he had to stay at Malaysian Hall, we had Iftar with him there as well.

Malaysian Hall with Sheena.

It was also Adila's 25th birthday the same night; so right after Iftar-ing at Malaysian Hall, we had dessert at Villandry near her home.

The creme brulee was to DIE FOR.

Adila and hommies were so sweet that they let us stayed at their house for Raya. Most of us didn't sleep and cooked for Hari Raya. Zeileen was the head cook of course, with her cute apron and all. We had lontong. I made this macam tak jadi terlebih kuning.

We also had ketupat and lemang ok. (Instant lemang pun sedap kot)

And rendang and kuah kacang by Zeileen and Adila. Ni memamg sedap la. 10 kali tambah kot.

Zeileen and her helper, Sheena.

Adila and Ammar di pagi raya . Double As. Nak kahwin dah depa. Alhamdulillah. Amin. ;)
Zeileen and moi. ;)

Right after breakfast rendang ketupat at Chiswick, we went to the ambassador's house somewhere in.. Aiyo, I can't remember, but it would be somewhere where people like Jude Law and Leona Lewis would live kot. ;-p

Mak-mak datin sekalian.

 Chiswick hosts :)

One for the memory!

Fara and sister had Eid in London as well in conjunction of Alyaa's graduation ceremony.

During the second day of raya, Sheena and I flew to Paris for three days.

During the same week, Malaysian Culinary Association (if I'm not mistaken) hosted an event of Pasar Malam, where most restaurants in London opened up stalls selling their food. Some of the food were..ok je. But millions of Malaysian, Thai as well as British came and actually bought the tawar Teh Tarik just because.

Azizul obviously doesn't want to miss the food galoria...

Miss Marriam Bajunid and ehem. It was really good seeing her.

Sheena and her tawar Teh Tarik

Tak paham gambar ni.

Beraya with lovely housemates takkan dilupai. This was in Selly Oak, second week of Raya.

Last but not least, one picture with cousins all the way from Singapore, Kak Sasha and Naz Chia. At Nandos, Bayswater.

So what do you have in store for 2011? Bring it on!

Ramadhan 1432

Ramadhan, we meet again. How we've missed you.

It's the second day of Ramadhan, and I've been spending my Iftar at home and having home cooked meals since day one. With the havocs of Param here and there, so malas man to go. LDP by 5.15pm dah jam teruk. So, for now, I feel that there's no point of me going to any param unless I really crave for some paramness lovin'.. *teringat kuih sampan pelita at TTDI*..

Anyway, Ramadhan is not just all about food. Yeah, partially you celebrate it with food, but that's just because you're hungry. But Ramadhan is mainly about patience and tolerance with one another. It's all about doing the good deeds and refraining self from bad deeds. It's also about being grateful on the things you have in life, the food that are being served on the table, the secured job you have to put food on the table, the clothes you wear everyday and etc etc. It's about moderation, not boastful.

So, muhasabah diri ok? Paham?

Selamat berpuasa friends. Embrace it to the fullest and wishing that Allah blesses you and family with smiles, happiness and togetherness.

Doa Untuk Kekasih

A friend forwarded this doa (prayers) to me. She got it from an acquantance's blog and it's a doa for kekasih (lovers) for those who are in love, and who wants to be loved, marriage, to be married, etc. This is something that I would like to share with everyone..

Dengan nama Allah yang Maha Pengasih lagi Maha Penyayang

Ya Allah…
Seandainya telah Engkau catatkan…
Dia milikku tercipta buatku…
Satukanlah hatinya dengan hatiku…
Titipkanlah kebahagiaan antara kami…
Agar kemesraan itu abadi…

Ya Allah…
Ya Tuhanku yang Maha Mengasihani…
Seringkanlah kami melayari hidup ini…
Ketepian yang sejahtera dan abadi…
Maka jodohkanlah kami…

Tetapi Ya Allah…
Seandainya telah Engkau takdirkan
Dia bukan milikku…
Bawalah dia jauh daripada pandanganku…
Luputkanlah dia dari ingatanku…
Dan periharalah aku dari kekecewaan…

Ya Allah ya Tuhanku yang Maha Mengerti…
Berikanlah aku kekuatan…
Menolak bayangannya jauh ke dada langit…
Hilang bersama senja yang merah…
Agarku sentiasa tenang…
Walaupun tanpa bersama dengannya…

Ya Allah yang tercinta…
04:28Ya Allah yang tercinta…
Pasrahkanlah aku dengan takdir-Mu…

Sesungguhnya apa yang telah Engkau takdirkan
Adalah yang terbaik untukku…
Sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Mengetahui…
Segala yang terbaik buat hamba-Mu ini…

Ya Allah…
Cukuplah Engkau sahaja yang menjadi pemeliharaku…
Di dunia dan akhirat…
Dengarkanlah rintihan daripada hamba-Mu yang daif ini…
Jangan Engkau biarkan aku sendirian…

Amin Ya Rabbilalamin
